Kunlavut Reaches Olympic Badminton Final

Thai Star Kunlavut Advances to Olympic Badminton Final

Thai men’s singles world champion Kunlavut secured a place in the Paris Olympics men’s singles final by defeating Malaysia’s top player Lee Zii Jia 21-14, 21-15. This achievement marks a historic moment for Thai badminton as Kunlavut becomes the first player from Thailand to reach an Olympic final. Despite his success, Kunlavut humbly referred to himself as an “ordinary player” and stressed the importance of taking things step by step. He acknowledged the pressure of high expectations from Thai fans but considered this experience valuable regardless of the outcome. Kunlavut’s victory follows his impressive win against China’s world number one Shi Yuqi in the quarterfinals.
