RM42mil Allocated for Putrajaya’s Green Spaces

KUALA LUMPUR: The government has disclosed that RM42mil was used for maintaining Putrajaya’s landscapes from 2014 to 2023.

Large-Scale Maintenance RM42mil Covering Key Parks

Dr. Zaliha Mustafa, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), stated that the funds were allocated to preserve 1,873 hectares of green areas, including several prominent public parks.

Parks and Green Areas Covered Under the Budget

Key parks included in the budget were Taman Saujana Hijau, Taman Rimba Desa, Taman Rimba Alam, Taman Pancarona, Taman Wetland, Taman Botani, Taman Putra Perdana, and Taman Warisan Pertanian, along with buffer zones and residential landscapes.

Additional Funding for ASEAN Chairmanship

In addition to regular maintenance, RM2.6mil was designated for upgrading landscape aesthetics in preparation for Malaysia’s ASEAN chairmanship in 2024.
