Historic Win for Malaysia in Paris

Malaysia’s Men’s Doubles Pair Wins Bronze at Paris Olympics

Malaysia’s men’s doubles pair, Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, claimed the bronze medal at the Paris Olympics, giving Malaysia its first medal of the Games. The “Xie/Su” duo defeated Denmark’s Astrup and Rasmussen with scores of 16-21, 22-20, 21-19. This win makes Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik the first Malaysian men’s doubles team to win medals in two consecutive Olympics. The match was a nail-biter, with the Malaysians coming from behind after losing the first game and saving multiple match points in the second game to force a decider. They then held their nerve to win the third game and secure the bronze medal.
