Electric Scooter Lithium Battery Fire Traps Woman, Rescued by Firefighters

A fire in Hualien County, Taiwan, believed to be caused by a charging electric scooter’s lithium battery, trapped a woman on the third floor of her home. Firefighters arrived quickly and rescued the woman, who was suffering from smoke inhalation. She was taken to the hospital for treatment. The fire, which started in the garage, was brought under control within 30 minutes. Initial investigations point to the lithium battery as the cause, but further investigation is needed to determine the exact cause and extent of damage.
