Suspect Arrested After Fatal Bukit Jalil Hit-and-Run

KUALA LUMPUR: A man accused of causing a tragic hit-and-run accident on the Bukit Jalil Highway has been detained by police. The incident left a seven-year-old girl dead and her parents injured.

Chronology of the Crash

The accident, which occurred at 9:50pm on Nov 15, involved a collision that sent all three family members onto the road. Despite being rushed to the hospital by nearby witnesses, the young girl succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

Legal Proceedings Underway

“This case has been referred to the State Prosecution Office to determine charges under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” ACP Mohd Zamzuri revealed.

Evidence from Dashcam Recording

A brief video clip of the incident, recorded by a dashcam and widely shared online, depicts a luxury vehicle speeding before striking the motorcycle. The car briefly halted but then fled the scene.
