MyresQ App: Redefining Emergency Medical Care

Seconds Matter During Emergencies

PETALING JAYA: Every second counts when a cardiac arrest occurs, and the MyresQ medical app is designed to make those seconds matter. It enables nearby responders to act swiftly, bridging critical gaps in emergency care.

Achievements Since Launch

Since its launch in March, MyresQ has facilitated 459 emergency responses, including 127 cases of cardiac arrest. The app also addresses emergencies like fainting and chest pains. It boasts a database of 360 AEDs and connects with 5,805 qualified rescuers.

Developing the App from Experience

Co-founder Dr. Mohd Afiq Mohd Nor, an emergency physician at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre, shared that the app was inspired by an incident in 2022 where CPR was unavailable during a collapse. With a team of experts, he developed and tested MyresQ over three months.

Accelerating Emergency Response

The app’s goal is to activate responders within a 500m radius to reach victims in just four minutes, compared to the average ambulance arrival time of 17–20 minutes.

Empowering the Public with Tools

Dr. Afiq highlighted that CPR and AED usage within 10 minutes can significantly enhance survival rates by preventing brain damage. MyresQ allows users to upload AED locations, aiding others in emergencies.

Transforming Crisis Management

It serves as an essential tool for both trained responders and bystanders to take swift, lifesaving action. Available nationwide, MyresQ is transforming how Malaysia responds to medical emergencies.
