Myanmar 8.2-Magnitude Earthquake: Malaysia Sends 50 Rescuers for Emergency Relief

PUTRAJAYA, March 29 – A powerful 8.2-magnitude earthquake has shaken central Myanmar, northern Thailand, and southern China, causing widespread destruction. In response, Malaysia has swiftly deployed a 50-member humanitarian and disaster relief team under the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) to aid in the Myanmar earthquake rescue operations.

The team, led by a mission commander and 49 trained personnel, will assist with search and rescue, medical aid, and relief distribution. To enhance efficiency, authorities opted for a single full-team deployment, replacing an earlier phased deployment plan.
